Go to modthesims2.com ([link]), and search for whatever custom made content (by other players) that you want. You have to register with them to be able to download, but that's free and so is all the stuff on there. After you download the files you want, right click and tell it to "extract files". Then put the files in your downloads folder (which is in the sims folder). When you play again, click yes if the game asked if you want to enabled custom content, and it should show up in whatever section it belongs in.

I've downloaded so much stuff that I don't remember specific links for a lot of it.

The eyes and hair are in the bodyshop there somewhere.

Also, for extra skins from the game, use the cheat boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true in the neighborhood, then use shift N in the make a family before you make anyone. It should give you extra skins and clothes options.
